Mission Statement
The Advising Center at UConn Stamford’s mission is to promote holistic student development, learning, and success by providing students with accurate and up-to-date information and resources that are necessary to make well-informed, educational decisions.
Advising Model/Philosophy
The Advising Center’s advising philosophy encourages students to be active participants in achieving their academic goals by engaging in a combination of developmental, intrusive, and prescriptive advising methods. We want students to recognize that academic advising is a part of their overall learning process by providing an engaging, supportive, and inclusive environment.
The Advising Center focuses on offering guidance and support to all students as they transition to the University by promoting a positive advisor-to-advisee partnership while encouraging intentional academic exploration and the planning of educational opportunities and objectives.
Diversity Statement
The Advising Center is committed to valuing the unique diversity that the UConn Stamford campus represents by fostering an environment in which all students feel welcome, respected, and celebrated. The Advising Center’s goal is to help all students realize their academic potential regardless of race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status or parental status.
